Our Story
Lumira Education was founded to bring genuine educational expertise back to the heart of tutoring and school support.
We are part of the Faculti Group (faculti.net), a global academic media platform that has delivered training and education services to institutions including UCL IOE, King's College London, and leading Initial Teacher Training (ITT) providers for over a decade.
Lumira is led by former Senior Leaders in secondary education, with deep experience across UK curriculum delivery, SEND provision, and pupil progress. Our leadership team understands the real challenges schools face — and we are committed to delivering tutoring and supply solutions that raise standards, not just fill gaps.

Our Name
Our founder believed that true education doesn’t just transfer knowledge — it illuminates potential. In searching for the perfect name, they wanted something that captured this spirit: the power to spark understanding, growth, and clarity.
They found inspiration in Latin, where "lumen" means light. Building on this, they shaped a new word: Lumira. The ending "-ira" adds a sense of energy and movement — the act of bringing something into being.
Lumira was born to mean the bringer of light — a symbol of learning that doesn't just inform, but transforms.
Today, everything we do is guided by that original vision: to help each learner see further, think deeper, and shine brighter.
