At Lumira Education, we are committed to providing specialist educational support for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), from early years through to post-16 and beyond.

We work closely with schools, families, and local authorities to deliver tailored tuition and support that meets the diverse needs of learners across Essex and surrounding areas.

Our SEND Services

Individualised 1:1 Tuition

We provide patient, adaptive, and structured tuition for students with a range of needs, including those with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans), neurodiverse profiles, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) challenges, and specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, and speech and language needs.

Small-Group Sessions

For students who benefit from peer interaction, we offer carefully managed small-group tutoring, focusing on academic progress, confidence building, and social development.

Alternative Provision and Off-Roll Support

Lumira Education supports students who are currently off-roll, excluded, or awaiting placement. Our off-site provision ensures continued access to high-quality education, aligned with individual learning plans and reintegration goals where appropriate.

SEND Specialist Tutors

All our tutors working with SEND learners have enhanced DBS clearance and are trained in safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and differentiated teaching strategies. Many hold specialist qualifications or have extensive experience supporting SEND and complex needs within schools.

Our Approach

Personalised Learning Plans: We design bespoke education pathways in consultation with families, SENCOs, and other professionals involved in the learner’s support network.
Regular Progress Reporting: We provide detailed feedback and reporting to schools and families, supporting EHCP reviews and formal reporting where needed.
Safeguarding Focused: Our team operates fully compliant with KCSIE (Keeping Children Safe in Education) standards, ensuring a safe, nurturing learning environment.
Flexible Delivery: Sessions are available online or in-person from our dedicated centre, offering families and schools choice based on individual needs.
